Remodeling Process
Because the remodeling process is often new or a bit confusing, the following is the progression you can expect in a kitchen remodeling project. We have outlined the process from the initial call - through the design phase - to completion. Stella Contracting, Inc. and Kitchens by Stella always spends time with their clients educating them on "what can be expected" during any type of project.

Detailed Process Outline
Showroom Visit
This will take approximately one hour. It is an introduction between customer and designer. The meeting will cover the kitchen process including cabinetry, countertops, lighting and budgeting the kitchen. We will set the appointment for a field measurement at this time.
Job Site Measurement
- Talk about wants and needs, materials and budget.
- Field measurements taken.
- Make next appointment for presentation phase at home.
- Designer requests owner shop and budget for appliances, flooring and any other kitchen items that will work into the "kitchen budget".
Design - Proposal - Budget - Design Retainer
- Examine new design and layout, including perspectives and floorplan.
- Review proposal/kitchen amount including electrical, plumbing and countertop allowances.
- Upon acceptance of proposal, a design retainer will be obtained - ($500.00 or 3% of contract) and will be credited to the final contract.
Pre-contract Measurement (upon receipt of design retainer)
- Designer/contractor to field check kitchen with "Production Manager" and necessary mechanical contractors.
- Contractors to verify necessary specifications and measurements.
Contract
- Contract and specifications to be written out completely including all necessary selections, materials, manufacturers, style and type.
- Final contract issued with amount and payment schedules.Signature and necessary deposit to place special orders.

Order/Verify
Place all necessary special orders and verify all selections in contract.
Pre-construction Meeting - Approximately 1 week prior to start of job
- Review any special needs and concerns.
- On-site communication center established.
- Hand off between Sales and Production Manager.
Materials
All materials on job-site or held in warehouse before job starts.
Start of Work, Payments in Stages
Construction payments as per contract.
Pre-completion Checklist Filled Out and Signed
Final punch-list to be discussed by homeowner and Production Manager.
Completion
Final construction payment.
